FOX 35 speed - fuel
« on: May 25, 2023, 08:57:38 AM »
Looking over the 2017 Fox 35 rules package and it indicated that the fuel would be 70% methanol, 25% all Castor oil, 5% Nitro is this the fuel that is currently being provided at contests? Reason for the question is I thought current speed fuel was 10% nitro for all classes.

That is a unique fuel called out by the creators of the event.

I ran it a couple of times and it was pain to provide.

They would have been better off with 5/29 or 10/29 which are commonly used by stunt flyers with Foxes.

I got a note on this and for the NATS they will be using the 5%N, 25%Castor fuel in the rules. Also, NO carbon fiber props only wood, nylon or reinforced nylon (i.e. APC's or Master Airscrew or Tornato's) but you can balance and rework them. Event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 12.
