Post by: Ken Burdick on September 15, 2015, 12:15:55 PM
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-USSR-Model-RC-Boat-Engine-MDS-10-KR2UC-10-cc-1990-year-New-in-box-/151814072961?hash=item2358d2ea81

spotted this on ebay today. I don't know the seller but did see once that the Aussies went REAL fast with one of these down there.

I think it's the one to use, not a beginners project for sure. The timing will need to be brought down, some other machine work but Lee or Browne can do that. What I do know is the thing can be quite fast. I'm heavily invested in my McGee .65, otherwise would take on the project.

I've only owned one MDS but it was basically junk that needed a ton of rework and it wore out real fast. It's the ASP of Russia.

that's been my impression too. I imagine the Aussie engine has lots of machine work. For the real deal, I'd either find the OS .65 df and go from there, or buy an OPS from Billy. Honestly, the C speed event is faster. My Nelson 40 will out run the D.....go figure.
