what is a good RPM target for a Cox reed valve engine on 10% nitro
-
My guess would be around 12,000 RPM. Somewhere around that number. When we were Mouse Racing with the reed valve engines we were turning around 18,500 RPM. That was about the limit of nylon props before the blades started stretching at the hub. Not good........

Ask Paul Gibeault or John McCollum. Of course the first question is "what prop?"

Any RPM you get on 10% would be a miracle. 25% is the entry level for Cox 1/2A's.

I've lost count of the years that I flew the Cox .049's on the same 10% fuel I flew my stunt/combat/racing/navy carrier planes on. D>K
