Respectfully, I have to ask- Why would it come apart? ?? It is an extremely strong model that has just been rebuilt. As for bench running it, a 20 second run will not hurt it. I have been messing with these things for 30+ years. This very engine has been flying since 1968. My father flew it all through the 70's and now I have well over 200 flights on it and countless bench runs to show it people how it works. There are many videos of bench runs lasting several minutes. The only issue with having it on an airplane and firing it up is you will blister the paint if you don"t get some air moving over it within 30 seconds or so. That's the main reason for quick launches.    Mike

Stan, It is Plain old 92 octane unleaded gasoline. We ran regular leaded gas when it was available up to the early 90's.  I know there are other choices for fuel but this is the only fuel I have ever run in a Dyna-Jet. I have no experience with other fuels. Someone with more knowledge might fill us in on other options and how they work. This airplane was never flown in any contests, it is strictly for fun. That's pretty much why I never tried using other fuels. Using gasoline and the stock metering jet worked very well for us. Very reliable, easy starts, consistent runs. Its a very fun airplane to fly, I will post a video soon. Mike
