your old one was pretty fast.....

engine was like me (old) one of the first big crank nelsons .the bearings are spinning in the case and piston was getting loose in the sleeve.

for the size of the wing ,really not worth the effort

You need the outboard heavy and that only leaves about 8" of exposed inboard wing on which to save weight. And you still need the inboard strong enough to hold the leadout guide.
My next build will have a spruce spar and balsa wood. When it's sanded to shape I will will weigh it and consider cutting holes in the inboard.
