I'm getting ready for Brodaks and checked the line length on my Fox 35 Sportsman Stunt Speed entry. Center line of ship to centerline of handle measured 59' 4"...am I legal?

My plane was built from the remains of one of my crashed R/C Club 40 Pylon racers. Kinda looks like a Buster.  In practice flying ,my best was 25 sec for 7 laps. Found the APC 9x6 fastest for my plane. Take off RPM was 11.5k See you guys soon! PhillySkip

find a handle with 2 in longer leads I have a handle with some long leads u can use at Brodaks if u would like

AMA Rules only permit two(2) connectors per line. I've seen some long clips to make up differences but nothing like 2".

5. Size, Construction and Measurement of Control Lines
Length, diameter, and types of lines permitted are stated under the specific rules for each event. The number and sizes of lines to be used, as specified for each event, are minimum requirements; they may be exceeded at the discretion of the contestant. However, if more and/or larger lines are used, no adjustment in the timing and/or judging procedures will be made to compensate for them. All lines used to control flights shall be steel wire or metal of equivalent strength, in good condition, and free from kinks and rust. Line connections to handle an aircraft must have a strength equal to or greater than that of the flying lines. No swivels are to be used as part of the control system of Control Line models. Control lines shall be of uniform diameter from the lead-out connections to the handle. No more than two (2) connectors may be used per line.

I do not compete, period, but the "no more than 2 connectors~" does NOT make sense to me...I always need 4...two(2) at the flying line to lead out near the plane and two(2) at the flying line to handle connection....

Wait.!!..I read and re-read and it is "Per line"....OK relax....I fixed my own ignorance

Skip...Make really long connectors and you are good

Guys I'm leaving for Brodak's in the morning. I'll bring a set of old 61' lines cut them to size and wrap the ends. Eventhough I'm flying a bunch of events ,there is still down time to fix a set of lines. Brodak's is a blast,wish me luck!.......PhillySkip
