For 1/2A Proto, anyone played with it yet? https://www.ebay.com/itm/155508117994
Would the older one with the offset intake be anywhere close, I have one but haven't done much with it. I have a few Pzero, but they need the mods. I'll start with something milder as I know nothing about CL.

I have one ready to fly in a 1/2A Profile Proto. I only have a few break-in tanks thru it. I'm adding 2 head shims for a smoother NV adjustment. I'll fly at the Dallas contest April 28-30.

One layer of .6oz fiberglass cloth adhered with Z-Poxy Finishing Resin. Dry sand with 80 grit to break the "glaze". Then 220 grit. One additional coat Finishing resin to fill the weave. Start sanding with 80 grit and finish up dry sanding with 320 grit. Apply fillets (15 minute epoxy with micro-balloons and thinned with denatured alcohol to almost watery and applied with a "mono-ject" syringe). One coat of Klass Kote Primer sprayed at 1 part primer, 1 part catalyst, 1 part thinner. Wet sanded with 320. Fill dents with Bondo putty and sand. One additional coat Klass-Kote primer. Wet sand with 400 grit. 1 coat color sprayed as 1 part color, 1 part catalyst, 2 parts thinner. NO further sanding or clear coating. ALL primer and color coats can be applied on same day if you get started before 9am.

Thanks for the info. One other question are all the parts individually glassed and then assembled?

I've glassed it both ways. Probably makes the joints stronger if you glass after assembly.
My take on the Profi is that it is a high quality engine and runs well but, it doesn't have a boost port so, it won't be as powerful as other engines. That being said, it is plug and play so there's no heroic machine work involved.

The fuse is glassed and sanded before wing and stab is glued in. WAY easier to sand it this way. The wing and stab is glassed after assembly. Epoxy/micro fillets are added just before 1st coat of primer.
