Title: .21 Sport Speed leadouts......
Post by: Dave Rigotti on October 07, 2021, 03:31:46 PM
I'm early in building a .21 Sport Speed model.  I see references on the plans and the build article that leadouts are required ie, flying lines to be connected to the model outside the wing.  Yet I see no mention of this in the rules book for speed 2019/2020 event 307 on page 18 that leadouts are REQUIRED.
Section 3.3 mentions leadouts to be .200 min spacing though.  I'm a bit confused. Those that know please help......

Dave,   most likely the plans and build article you have are from early on, before the current rules came into effect.  Leadouts are not required, and the .200 spacing also is not now required.

Mike,
Thank You for the speedy reply.  Section 3.3 does state .200" minimum:

3.3.
The minimum distance between the leadouts at the wing tip shall be no less than .200 inches.

I'm confused IF leadouts are required as implied?

Hi Dave,   This requirement will not be in the 2022 rulebook.  Plus no leadouts required.  (no one is currently using them).  Please trust me on this, I chair the CL Speed rules board.
