In the 2nd set of pix, above, you'll see a Tupolev TU-95 'Bear'. That was Keith's winning entry in Tucson's first event, 2007. It performed flawlessly. I used to have a great in-flight photo of it, but can't seem to find it now.

With Keith that's a real tough one to guess. Whatever it is though it will work, and it will also be extremely well done.

Next October is plenty of time to get something built. Models can be sent to be proxy flown. Builder does not need to be here. In the past, there have been models at this Tucson contest that have received trophies being proxy flown. There are several pilots here that can be deemed adequately experienced with CL models to do the proxy task. However, not mentioned in the proxy pilot rule here is the basic assumption that the airplane has been flown with all the engines operating before sending it here.
Stand by for some "slight adjustments" for the Tucson rules to be announced soon.

OK, thanks for the comments.
I had several ideas lined up for the next several years, but the rules changes being considered sort of changes what will be next.
Nevertheless, build something quick and easy and have it proxy flown. One of the changes being considered is a "Perpetual Plank Award". It can be a model built for either of our categories - Limited and Unlimited. But the would have to be completely from sheet balsa with a limitation on the thickness of the sheets. The award will be for the best "Plank". Sort of a throwback on what people used to think of when 1/2A profiles were mentioned. Standby.

I appreciate the proxy suggestion, and have always been aware of that option, but if I was going to get involved I would want to be there and fly my own model. No offense to any potential proxy pilots, that's just how I would want to do it. Along with being there I would also get to enjoy seeing everyone else's models and flights, that would be just as fun and entertaining to me. Maybe someday, just gotta hit the lottery so I can afford the trip. :(
