Since the CL and RC scale Nats have been moved to June 24-26 dates the registration dates are earlier in the year
Register before June 1st to avoid the late registration fee of $50
You can register up to June 24th but you will pay an additional $50

Also remember the NASA banquet will be held on Saturday night and you must purchase your tickets for that when you register thru the AMA
NASA has improved the site the banquet which will be in town instead of being out at the flying site
We currently only have 3 pilots with 11 models entered so far

You can also fly with new line diameters, the CL scale rules have been revised

The new CL Scale rules are good reading. My compliments to the author.
With all the dead wood and RC jargon removed, it's only about 10% of it's previous size.
If these rules are in effect at a contest you enter you need to print and study this document.
You won't need 42 pages of paper and two ink cartridges any more.
I'm sure some questions will arise from the revised static and flight scoring verbage.

Do you have to register with the FAA in order to enter the NATS? S?P VD~

FAA registration is separate from what I have heard. If the FAA wants to check registration that is on their dime at the Nats. As a CD I have been instructed to check AMA membership for a contest sanction but I won't ask about FAA registration (for those who fly with 2.4) or really care. If the FAA shows up at the Nats it will be interesting, I am covered since I have my card with me.

Again, my compliments to the author(s) of the newly revised CL Scale rules. The document is a whole world better with the RC jargon weeded out.
One comment and suggestion:
The score sheets at the end of the document each have a revision date noted at the bottom.
The 42 pages of text have nice footer line, but no effective date. It is very important that a document that is subject to revision carry a revison date on every page. And thanks to today's word processors, we have the technology in hand.

It's growing! Great. I am excited to see the authentic scale get some entries, can't wait to see them up close and personal. I have been able to carve out a visit day for both scale and stunt this year in the midst of this crazy life - hope to get to fly a little later on, but buying a new house and moving is really cramping my flying style!!
However, that spells NEW AND BIGGER WORKSHOP!!! But I still wanna visit my friends at the nats. Hope to see ya there.
