NASA Scale Classic (NSC) 2017
« on: May 18, 2017, 06:39:07 PM »
Since things are running slow with invatations sent out this year, check with me (fcm95@comcast.net) on what you want to fly. C/L may not use the "qualifying" requirement to enter.

Blessings

I hope we have a much cleared statement of the numbers for qualification.  Things like "top 25%" leave a lot to the imagination.

Sure, the top 25% of 100 is 25.  But with the very small number of CL scale entries the rounding-off factor is huge.

If you build a plane and travel to a contest you have no control of the number of entries.

What is an "entry"?  Paying the entry fee?  Static judging?  Attempting flight?  Getting a score?

Last year Brodak only reported those who got scores, which was less than half of the actual entries.

I would suggest a "top 3" minimum with additional qualifiers for larger contests.

The 2016 NASA Classic was a great contest.  But we don't need rules that make it even smaller.  We only used two and a half of three available days.
