Hi guys... new to the forum here...
I just finished a little Heinkel He-51 for the Brazilian C/L Nats to be held this coming weekend (11/14~15)
It's kinda stand-off scale as I built it from a set of plans apparently from an extinct Spanish kit company called Modelbau. Still unflown because of time restrictions...
Power is by OS 35 r/c, home made throttle linkage system, Koverall covering and dope finish.
Hope you enjoy...

Nicely done...

Very nice.

welcome aboard!!
I love your model, I have always liked that airplane design and you have truly captured the spirit in your build,, best of luck with your flights
-
Art,
Outstanding! H^^
I see ability and technique in that model.
All kinds of tricks.
I hope to see more of your great models.

When the first pic came up I thought it was the real thing. Hope it flies as well as it looks.

PHENOMINAL!!!
Welcome to the forum, your Heinkel is a masterpiece, can't wait to see more! y1

Thanks everyone... and I want to say that I learned a lot from my buddy and forum member Fred Cesquim, who's a true master of the art. Even though I'm almost double his age I can still learn a few new tricks! THANKS FRED!
-
Impressive!
-
Art, who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I'm still learning or relearning something every day.
-
Had to come back for another look, your airbrush work is impeccable. This model is very impressive in many ways, I'd have a hard time putting that first load of fuel in it. y1

Absolutely beautiful. A work of art!
-
Art,
I'd like to see a few more photos of your fine model.
Small holes for the bellcrank instead of long slots? How does that work?
What did you use for the flying wires?
I have a model happening that will need a bunch also.
I used the metalic silver sewing elastic years ago on a model but I'd like something riged for this one.
You did a great job with that model. H^^

Welcome to Stunt Hangar. Very nice model and super Job!
-
Awesome! Plans for that and some of the other Modelhob designs are readily available. The Heinkel "looks" like it should be a great flyer.
But I'm with Wayne here - not sure I'd even want to fuel up such a beautiful airplane!

Hi Charles,
Yes, I'll post more photos, thanks for your interest and kind words!
I have next to no experience with C/L planes... I flew for a year starting in '75 and migrated to R/C... so the small holes for the bellcrank cables might have been a mistake...
The flying wires are the same stuff you used: elastic thread! Same for the overhead antennas! Simple, cheap, easy and replaceable!

So...it's flown?

So...it's flown?
Yes it did, but very briefly... my throttle system didn't work properly and I had to abort shortly after takeoff... light damage resulted but easily repairable!
-
That sounds great, now to get all the bugs out and get a video.
-
Congratulations Art. A beautiful model, very well executed.

WOW! How is that "stand off scale". Like others, I thought the first photo was of the full size bird. Your first name says it all: "ART"! Bravo. y1 #^ H^^ H^^ H^^
