Here's a picture of my friend Gordon from Toronto Ontario with his recently completed triple threat project. Gordon built these models to honor Walt Musciano and his many contributions to our hobby. He did an outstanding job with all three aircaft. They are powered by vintage Torpedo Greenhead engines.

Wow! They're all beautiful!
Why don't you invite Gordon to join the forum?

Those look like the Hobby Helpers plan set from about 1955 or so that had those three fighters on one set.
I started the P-51 almost 40 years ago, and got it planked........ it is still waiting to be finished! LOL!!

That was an article by Walt Musciano in Air Trails, Dec 52. At one time, if not for all time, it was the best selling set of plans that Hobby Helpers (Air Trails) had. That "Triple Threat" article/set of plans included the Spitfire, the Bf 109 and the P-51. All to Musciano's typical 3/4" = 1' scale.
Musciano did a number of 3/4" = 1' models during the 50's. He did another "Triple Threat: in Air Trails, Sep 53, with the Hurricane, the Grumman F4F Wildcat and the Fw 190. Not to mention the multitude of 1" = 1' models and other scales that he did over the years.
That Spitfire was one of the first airplanes that I successfully flew. in the early 50's. Also learned about planking on that model and I have been using that technique ever since.
Plans are available now, separate for each model, from the AMA plans service.

Thanks for the info on AMA availability on the separate plans, Keith.
I like planking too, goes well if I take the time to 'set up to do it'!
