Title: Multiple Junior National Scale Champion
Post by: Chris McMillin on January 30, 2008, 01:51:59 AM
My eldest son Jeremiah flew Speed, Racing and Scale in the nineties and was the Junior Scale Champ 3 times. he flew a neat little 1/2 A Consolidated Typhoon in his first Nats Scale try (sold to him at a Whittier Narrows contest by Tony Drago), and then a beautiful Guillows Focke Wulf 190 he flew for two years. His last year was 1993 and he was tenth in Sport Scale overall. There were 25 total entries, all of his fellow competitors were Open.

A couple of summers ago I shot this picture of Jeremiah and his brother Michael in Phoenix, but I never quite got it out of the camera. Pity, but here we have it now.

So here they are, brothers. A couple of Scale guys, flying Michael's 1/2A Profile Scale Sukoi SU-26 at a school yard in Mesa, AZ one sultry summer afternoon in 2005.

Chris:
Now, THOSE are some pics! There should be some late congrats for the Champ, consolation for being camera-incarcerated!
The Typhoon in the lower one is a beauty! A rare sight of a little-modeled ship.
There was a Typhoon built as a 'B' Team Racer, I think on the John Hollowell Aussie site?
I recall another Typhoon BTR Stateside. (Keith Trostle's stable?)
The canopy shape and placement gives the bird an 'alert' look.

Thanks Jim,
We'll do. He is 26 and still in school! Oh well, they're worth it.
