I checked it out.  You can get all the scale events including the banquet for only $315.

But you can talk them out of the $65 base fee if you are already in another category.

I checked the Nats web site.
It's $65 basic for any and all events.
Combat, speed, racing and carrier are $10 per event.
Stunt $65.
Scale $40.

I guess some events are worth more than others.  As I see it, stunt flyers can only enter one Rule Book event for $65 ($130 including the basic $65).  But it you want to fly all five scale events it would be $265.  If I am able to get six planes working, I could enter all six carrier events for $125.

As customers, it's our decision.

FYI - NASA (the SIG that runs the Scale Nats) does not end up making money after paying a small stipend to our judges.  If you want to understand more, please PM me.
