Crop Dusting , or in N.Z. its dressing pasture with Superphosphate . Prehistoric bird @#$% . Naru I think was ' Guano ' ands gone now, justabout . :-X
One bloke told me he got $ 6 in hay for Ea Dollar he spent on ' super ' , though he bled the pilots almost dry on the price .
You can see the plane ' settles ' as the loader dumps it in , One Ton there . Theyve got a ' emergency dump ' lever . But
the three seconds it takes sometimes is 3 seconds to much . Damp Super weighs to much , so theyve got to try and keep it dry .
A forced landing with a ton of super at your back would be a bit like hitting the brakes with a semi 6 ft off your rear bumper .
inadviseable .
Theres the odd spray aircraft , but mostly they use Heli's , the Deer Hunting / Farming was the main game with those , and Tourism .
If they hadnt finally got the jump on the Deer , the south island would probly still end up in the sea Ea time it RAINED , as it did for
100 years . Morons with axes cleared it as high as you could stand and swing an axe .
The introduced possums , rabbits , deer & pigs did the rest , severly limiting regrowth .
Up north the pioneers cut down 20.000.000 mature Kauri Trees ( 600 - 1000 years to full growth . They left 1 1/2 .
One they couldnt get to , and the other had been hit by lightning .
The topography from the latitude of Auckland up , was thus changed just a little :P .

The Al;pine Fighter Collection / Wanaka Airshow , was this blokes baby . Though Govt subsidies ( Deer Farming / Fencing ) might hav had something to do with something .

Looks like the Spitfire pilot had a bum leg. Wasn't there a Spitfire Pilot that flew during the war with both legs having been amputated?

Yes. Douglas Bader. Both legs amputated below the knee due to a flying mishap prior to the war. He was shot down and captured by the Germans. They had so much respect for him that they let a British pilot drop him a new pair of prosthetic legs while in POW camp. German pilots were commanded to not attack the British pilot. Amazing!
