Post by: RC Storick on August 02, 2014, 06:51:30 AM
As some know I am tying my hand at scale next year, the question I have I have a practice airplane I want to set up and the equipment I have is a 3515/18 cobra motor,a edge 50 esc.,tp 2700 MAH 5S battery with a Tactic TR624 receiver and a Tactic TTXC650 Transmitter. What is the correct firmware and settings for the ESC and it there a wiring diagram for dummies somewhere?

Robert, I can't help you with your settings as I'm an IC'er, but just wanted to say how happy I am that you're trying scale!!!  Is it too early to tell us what project you plan on?

Sparky,

the ESC plugs into the receiver on Channel 3
Set the end point adjustment on the transmitter to 100% on both end points
You may have to reverse the channel so that the idle is set when the throttle stick is at the low position
Make sure the trim is set to mid range

Turn the transmitter on first
turn plug the battery in last - also check to make sure if your ESC has BEC or not

The ESC should sync up with the transmitter

Give me a call and I can walk you thru the process

When you use throttle control the ESC looks at the settings on the transmitter stick so you should not have set anything on the ESC, you just need the end point adjustment and reversing set right to operate the throttle

Treat it like an RC setup ('cause it is!).  The whole CL Stunt fandango is necessary for two reasons: one, the motor needs to run perfectly without any help from the center of the circle; and two, there's no throttle to tell it what to do.
