Thanks Fred, great shots and a very good report today from the AMA. I am sure that the promotion done by you, John Brodak and others has paid off in the huge increase of Scale planes entered. It wasn't lon g ago that Scale was in poor condition. Now with that said, I have to add, "Why the heck can't the Navy Carrier guys get on the ball and promote that end of the hobby?

Thanks for the great pics Fred, looks like some really nice stuff is showing up this year. The Mohawk and the T-28 look incredible. I don't know, but I'm guessing the HE-111Z is Keith Trostle? I like the yellow 1/2A T-6 too.

I haven't seen that many scale airplanes in one place in years. Really good to see.

John Brodak is not the only one that deserves credit. Mike Keville got the 1/2A multi engines going. Wayne Willey, Allen Goff and many others are also stirring up interest.

While not scale, Warbird Stunt in Baton Rouge and Eldorado, Ark, are getting interest in semi scale stunters. Hey, they look like real airplanes!

Allen Goff did his research and this was the largest c/l scale nats in history according to what he found.
Sadly, the weather wasn't all that impressed and we had to shut down after only one round. However, that round supplied true nats champs with some really impressive flying by some very sweet airplanes!
The 1/2 A scale round was this AM, Sunday, and was a real blast! I don't think I've ever had more intertainment at a contest than that.

The weather was a problem this year so we only got one round of flying in but everyone had a great time and there were lots of planes, here are some flying pictures, I will post additional pictures on Monday

The tie in Static score in profile scale was broken by checking each judges score, since I had the highest individual score my B-29 got the High Static award for profile scale

The skies looked bad on Sunday Morning but we were able to get the 1/2a flights done..... barely it was really windy that morning, Richard Schneider had a very bouncy first lap with his AT-6 he flew in 1/2a scale but was able to get the model level to complete the flight

Ron Duly's HE-111Z may well be a re-finish job of the same model he and Dave Braun flew at Sepulveda Basin in 1976, which was then painted in a 'desert-camo' finish.

Back then, the powerplants were a mixture of Wen-Macs and others. Not sure what he's using today, but I'm glad to see it got off the ground again.

The memory of Ron's 1976 event, where I placed 3rd with a Fokker T.V, was what lit my fire to resurrect the 1/2A profile scale event.

I would be remiss if I failed to comment on the diligence and attention paid to reporting the c/l scale event by Fred Cronenwett and Dick Perry. Both of them were contsantly roaming the pits and flight lines with cameras in hand and recording the action and flyers.
A big job WELL DONE to both gentlemen.

Yeah, I agree we don't thank these reporters enough for the time they spend taking pictures and writing to keep us informed. A really big thank you should go to all that officiate and run the events.

It was my pleasure to be one of the flight judges again this year.I would like to send a personal thank you to all the builders/pilots for coming and sharing their beautiful ships.My heart is broken for all of you because of Mr. Weatherman.1 round of flights was just a tease but still only seeing these for a short period was nothing less than AMAZING.I see a 1/2A ship in my very near future............Hope ya got room for 1 more contestant at the FCM!!!!
