 Is that Bearcat a foamie?

Yes it is. Pete explained to me that he bought two of these years ago to turn into a carrier model of some kind and the project got side tracked. carrier has lost a lot of competitors and he wasn't flying much if at all, so he decided to just convert these to C/L scale models for Sport Scale. I didn't get to watch his flights or talk to him much this trip to see what progress and improvements he has made with them.
  Type at you later,

I don't think ARF's should be allowed in Scale competition, just my opinon.

FYI - Per the rules, ARFs are not allowed in most AMA scale events.  Only allowed in 526 Fun Scale.  And that's the point of Fun Scale -  to make entering a plane easy for those new to scale competition.

Thanks for the clarification, carry on.  :)

If you have a model you did not build or assembled and ARF it is allowable in Fun Scale. I flew a model that was built and flown by Walt Brownell at the Nats. Walt flew the model in the 2001 time frame at the Nats and then I flew it in several Nats. Since I wasn't the builder I could fly it in Fun Scale. Foam or balsa ARF's and other models built by someone else can be entered in Fun Scale.

Fun Scale becomes a flying event since the majority of the 10 static points are very close to each other.
