4 blade scale prop for 1/6 mustang
« on: April 30, 2020, 01:45:04 PM »
I'm inerested in a solution for a 4 blade scale FLYING prop on a 1/6 Mustang.

simply does something exist?  I've seen some RC models with scale flying props and I'd like to use one on this project.

Any Ideas?

Bruce,

I've seen those props on line for Electrics.

I would Google the scale ARF Warbirds. This is where I've seen these scale props that can actually be used. And the props are available as a part.

Someone else recently had a similar request, I believe I responding the same way?

Good luck.

A true flying scale prop for a plane like that would demand a 6-to-1 reduction gear to get the prop RPM to accept the engine RPM.  Since the early 1930's, all airplanes except the cheapest Piper Cubs and Cessna 150's used geared props.

I made one for my Bearcat - static only.

The largest I've seen is for 1/8th scale on the foam scale models with plastic props. 60 inch wingspan Mustangs are common now with 4 blades for electrics that actually have decent thrust. I plan on one for my 6S powered 60" Red Box Top Flite Airacobra.
