Does AMA accept a cash deposit in lieu of advance entries?  If so, how much?  There might be a way for the organization to front the money, then recover it if late entries appear.

This is an interesting subject.   Can you post AMA's formula for Nats prizes?

As a local CD, I was required by the AMA Rule Book to offer three prizes per event in a AA (or higher) contest, even if I lost money.

It is surprising that AMA exempts itself from its own rules.

The Stunt Community has asked for people to make donations to help pay for the Trophies. I saw a post on the open section at one point for CL Stunt where you could sponsor a trophy. So instead of Brodak sponsoring all of the throphies they could be sponsored by individuals. Start a Paypal fund where people can donate cash and then that is used to pay for the trophies for late entries. CL Stunt has a lot more pilot/entries participation on getting sponsors and getting enough judges. They put a help wanted on the open section asking for judges, I don't see that happening on the CL scale side of the house.

Another thing that needs to be corrected for next year...2 years in a row the Authentic Scale trophies were not marked correctly and they had to be mailed to the winners. Maybe we need to put a bug in the AMA's ear on what trophies are required and make sure they are marked correctly

Before somebody talks about fund-raising, Job One is to determine the amount of funds involved.

I have modified the original post...............because its way to early for ..............................

#1  I see that no one has the proper information to comment on what is being posted.
AMA does not require C D'S to give three places for contest. I have ran contest since 1967 (38 events) and have never had AMA to
      require that.

#2  As for the formula for award at the Nats, it is based on number of entries at a certain date, (you all can check with Yolanda for that)
In the past 7 years (excluding 2017 Nats) NASA picks up the bill for the awards and the banquet. John Brodak donates the "high static"
awards. Reason for a cut off date; would you like to coordinate hundreds of contestants at a last minute notice. We have to put together
flight orders, award numbers, banquet numbers, shirt orders for judges, proper paper work for each flight and a report and the end of
      each day.
#3  The situation on the "Authentic" scale awards have already been address and will be among all the other awards given out at the 2018
      Nats.
#4 As far as PayPal and donations, no way I have enough on my plate, altho I will be "touching" the hobby manufactures for raffle prizes for
     the 2018 C/L scale.

Blessings
Allen

Please check schedule as it has been modified.
Please register with Yolanda at AMA so we can have a good idea of pilots and numbers for the banquet. Thanks.
