I have been getting reminders to enter The Nats from event directors. They want me to enter before May 1st to maximize the award count.  I discussed this with Yolanda at AMA and she said that her cutoff date for ordering plaques is more like mid-April.  She requires three entries to order three plaques.  I wasn't able to extract what happens if the number is under or over three.  You can check entries yourself with this  link:
https://www.modelaircraft.org/nats-search?field_event_session_type=214&year=2026

I was able to glean this chart from AMA's site.

As you can see, $10 is the normal event entry fee, exception for stunt & scale which charge $65 and $40 respectively.  Stunt is a one- event catagory, so it's $65 for all you can fly, which is one event.  But it's possible to fly all six scale events if you care to come up with $240.  Not surprisingly, scale is lagging behind in entries.  In addition to the high hurdle of the $40 fee, the Nats is in direct conflict with the FAI World Championship.  Fun Scale and 1/2A have already cleared the three-entry threshold.  The other four events need help.  Based on my education in business, I believe that the $40 entry fee is well into the prohibitive range and has resulted in diminished return.

With their $10 entry fees, combat and speed have covered the three entries in all events.

I am considering entering Sport scale (one event) for the first time.   So I understand that to do that requires a $40 entry fee.  Also I'd have to stay another night or two in a motel since my regular stunt events are over Friday.  Kinda pricey....can the entry fee be broken down to single events/price?

In addition to the overall AMA Nats fee of $65 the event entry fee is $65 for Stunt, $40 for Scale, and $10 for everything else.
AMA gets $10 for the awards.
The premiums for Stunt & Scale are levied by the event organizers.
I pulled the chart data off AMA's web site.
The point of this posting is to motivate Nats flyers to register NOW so as to build up the award count.

Scale starts on Friday but does not end until Sunday

Friday - Static judging and Round 1 of flying
Sat - Round 2 and 3 of flying
Sun - Round 4 of flying

Of course the weather rarely cooperates with us so we have to re-arrange what days the rounds are flown typically (wind or rain)

Dave - let me know if you have any questions on documentation for the model. I probably have a 3-view and photos in my library of information (Full size).

Documentation contains 3-view, photos of the full size aircraft copied and color chips. If you are entering Fun scale that gets reduced. I would need to know what event you are thinking of entering, it will determine what documentation is required.
