Spitfire Mk IX & XVI
« on: March 24, 2010, 12:05:45 AM »
G'day folks

It does not appear that anybody has mentioned this. If it's duplicate info, apologies. A new Spitfire book that is astonishing in its detail.

Spitfire Mk IX & XVI Engineered by Paul Monforton, a Canadian.

The book has enormous detail with frame co-ordinates, rib co-ordinates and plan view dimensions. and it is possible that with just a little help, this book could be used to build a complete aircraft.

I'm gradually keying enough relevant co-ordinates into my computer to allow me to build a semi-scale stunter or two.

Paul also sells drawings that are as detailed and look every bit as accurate as Fred Spring's masterpieces.

Hello Geoff,

You mentioned the Fred Spring drawings.  Several years ago, I was fortunate enought to receive several of these drawings, like of the Hornet/Sea Hornet, several Spitfires, the Sea Fury and the Martin Baker MB 5.  Are those drawings still available?  Those had to be some of the best drawings I have ever seen.

Much of the detail he has in those drawings had to have come from factory drawings and factory lofting material.
