1/2A's
« on: October 27, 2014, 05:24:40 AM »
Late Oct. in Muncie can be a crap shoot at best for a good day for flying. This past Sun. it was 70 degrees and light winds so Mike McHenry, Roger Wildman and I met at AMA and had a ball flying 1/2A,s. Mike made the statement, "when was the last time we flew 1/2A's had had this much fun"? I have come to realize that modeling is more than thousand dollar, high tech large aircraft. We did fly other models but the 1/2A's were the high point of the day.
Roger brought his newly finished F2A Brewster Buffalo, Mike had his Zero and I had my F2A. The joke around here for the last year has been, " it has taken Roger more time to build and finish this 1/2A than it has taken him to build his customary 18/19 point stunt ship".
Here are a few pics., enjoy, try 1/2A.

Blessings
Allen

Allen, I see the Cessna in the back of Old Blue behind you - did you fly it and do you have the bugs out yet?

Yes Will that is the CAP 182 in the van. Still working out the bugs and it is getting closer to what I want, it will be fine  by next years Nats. Actually I had the Waco, the Petra and a Super Ringmaster in the van too. Boy was I over thinking my energy level. I am doing a product review on the Super Ringmaster for Jay Smith at AMA for an upcoming MA publication. I did get it in the air but........remember how contrary the redhead McCoy were? This one was no different, it just would not run for me. Soooooooo I am going to put a Brodak in it just to get it I the air this year. It would be ideal for a 19 or a 25. I need a picture of it in the air for the magazine.
I will give you a call and catch-up on life in the coming days, later.
Blessings.

How easy it is to overload the energy level any more!!!  Hey, if you need/want, I have a LA25 here that's quite new and you're welcome to it should you desire.  Might be good to compare a couple of power plants in the RM.

Will, let me give it a try, I'll get it back to you after some test flights. Providing I don't put it in the ground and break it.  n~

Blessings
