WOW I missed that one, had to come back, if it don't fit in a "PAN" how come you got one "Mr. Speed" LOL
Also if you go to the link and browse the photo section it shows one mounted on a 1/2 A Profile Proto Speed Plane so I just assumed this might help the gentleman. Thats it I'm all done. I'm goin back to bed, it's only 9:00 PM for you and late for me. BW@

Bill i assumed that he was going to use this for racing since it was posted in the racing page. since it is not a reed valve motor it is only good for one mouse event. the profi is a hi quality unit.

Hi,
Thanks for the help. I'm pretty sure the Profi was what I was thinking about because I remember the unusual positioning of the venturi and exhaust. It's going into an airplane that doesn't have a pan, so if I decide to get one the radial mount won't be a problem. It's an airplane my grandfather designed is the late 60's or early 70's. Don't think it is legal or competetive for any current speed or racing classes, just for fun. 17 inch span, about 88 inches of area. If it's too big for 1/2A I'll scale it down.
cheers,
Ken

Ken i would recomend a norvel big mig .061 for what you are going to fly lots of power and cheap around 40 bucks on da bay. no Bill i have not run my profi .049 yet i have gz .049 for .5 a proto that is the engine of choice right now.

The blue one is larger, set up for a Veco 29R. I was really young when my granfather got out of building C/L planes, but I kind of remember him refering to it as a B Proto.

That's the one. How competitive was it, I wonder? Certainly "different", not that that's bad...

I have the GZ .049 in stock , $90.00 plus postage....

Would this wing planform be legal for 1/2A Profile Proto? The rules call for "regular" wings. If I scaled it to 14" it would have about 60 sq in area.

You are speaking about the Bat plane in the picture...sure, but you would need to make a normal profile fuselage. The engine has to be side mounted...
