Shutoff Alternative?

Anyone taken a look yet at the tension shutoff for racing? The description I got from a combat guy was that this was not a low tension shutoff, rather, it was a pull to unlatch arrangement. Not sure where I'd go to get a look at one. This is apparently new, or new to the combat fliers in the USA. One seeming advantage is that both lines would take the shutoff actuation loads, not just the down line as is currently used. A possible disadvantage is that hitting the shutoff would not be the initial control input for shaking down the plane. That would add just a bit of time to the process. If well engineered, they might be less touchy to adjust than what we are used to? (Ok, maybe that is too optimistic....)

I bought some of the quick-jerk at-will shutoffs.  I have yet to see one work.   

The at-will combat shutoff is "nice to have", but not essential.  It only comes into play when you're burning down excess fuel after the match.  Racing shutoffs need to work all the time.  I'm quite satisfied with the downline shutoff.

The Canadian Mackenzie brothers have developed an R/C shutoff for their FAI combat models. Due to the sometimes unreliable nature of line tension shut offs,
it does not rely on line tension at all...
