"SuperGoose" Recycled SSR- Nats are a go!
« on: June 14, 2020, 03:24:02 PM »
Well since the Nats are a go, I recycled an old Mongoose I pranged at Dallas last year.
The wing was solid but body was trashed from many races. This old model won Fox at the
Nats at least twice, back when there was a bunch of competition.
Leadouts were changed to internal. I couldn't access bellcrank from bottom, so
a top hatch was made.
As a rebuild, shutoff configuration was less than optimal. I like to have one on SSR for
practice & in the event of a lean run. Of course they're not allowed in a race.
I painted it with probably 40 year old Hobbypoxy Maroon from Al Kelly's estate so a bit
of Al is on it.  It should be about as good as anything else.
