I am looking for the SSR tank diagram/instructions that were posted awhile back, by Bill Bishop I think. I did a search and looked through the pages here but could not find it. My SSR needs more fuel capacity so I need to make a larger tank. Anyone know where it was posted?, or please post again. Thanks in advance. 8)

Post title "new SSR nearing completion". BB

Thanks Bill, got it...and sorry 'bout spelling your name incorrectly b1. Pic is of the tank that will be replaced on a Shy Fox. 8)

New tank fabricated per Bill Bischoff's instructions. Old tank capacity 1 ounce, new tank capacity 1.25 ounces, good for 40 laps at a relatively rich setting. Question: (which may seem stupid however I'll ask) I have been capping off the overflow. Is it necessary in this tank? I assume it is however removing a cap and re-installing it during a race is a mistake waiting to happen so I'm hoping to not have to do it. Thanks in advance. 8)

Capping the overflow is NOT necessary.
With this design, you will have a uniflow. Since both vent and fill tubes end against the outside edge of the tank, whichever one actually bleeds the air is immaterial.

Great! That's the answer I had hoped for. Thanks Bill...and Bill. 8)

Per Bills instructions: All the tubes stop just inside the tank where they are installed. Details on the "SSR Nearing Completion" post. Works great! 8)

These tanks have a tendency to richen up a bit during the run, I presume when the upper uniflow vent is uncovered. It is not really noticeable with a full lean race setting, but if it is a little rich it is more noticeable. Of course, running a sewer-pipe venturi might have something to do with it.
