How thick is the fuselage between the wing and the tail?

3/8" teardrop.

Unless it has some reinforcement I would catch it gingerly on the nose. Seen lots of nice planes have the tail snap off on a wing catch.

Not gonna happen. I have been using a full length body spar in Goodyears for at least 30 years. This has 2 plus 2.3 OZ glass both sides.

Well that's a beautiful finish to be sure. I love Goodyear racers, they look like real airplanes. Sportsman GY at Brodaks next year?

Motorman 8)

I might go now that I'm retired & off dialysis, especially since Sportsman GY might be flown there. I have skipped Brodak in the
past because I don't do Clown (refuse to still); everybody seems to change the rules too much for my liking. Also their Fox
racing rules are irritating to say the least.  Some people couldn't build strong enough to handle a Fox, or know how to hot
start them..so...they went to LA .25's. Now those are out of production, Norvel .25's were banned & now obsolete, hot engine
seems to be the Brodak .25 which seems to be unobtainable these days?

Hi Tim

The Fox .35 isn't manufactured at this time either (only Fox parts are available on the mecoa website) so we're all in the same jam.

Re, vibration...some Fox.35's were really bad!! Mine (a 50th Annivesary model) shook so bad you couldn't adjust the needle valve (it was a blur). Never had an LA or Brodak .25 like that. Paul G. now has that engine, he ran it and found the same issue.

SSR was created for the people that wanted to race, not fiddle with obsolete engines and fix cracks. ;D

Obsolete racer? I know that any engine made these days is going to have a hard time selling. Even Fox '35's are beginning to fetch
a pretty high price. See you in Muncie?

Tim

As much as I'd enjoy seeing you out on the circle again, Muncie isn't a go this year. However, since you're retired, maybe you and Oge might want to try the Dallas Fall Contest this year? I might be able to make that one...

It would be really great to see you guys at the Dallas Labor Day contest!

FYI we have a raffle this year that has a bevy of Foxes to be raffled and lots of FP25s (they might be pretty fair SSW power).

Ya'll come,
