I thought you guy's might appreciate something a little different. My latest AMA Scale racer is the #94 "Little Mike".
Dry Weight is 19.5oz, and power is a 15mm shaft Nelson 15. prop is an Eichenberger 6.125x4.5. I still have to put the wheels back on, and fuel proof the flag decal.
Hope to test fly soon.
Cheers, Les

Good to see , id built a few ' Ginny's ' , the long span version . Must get to it again .

Very cool, really nice finish too! (Isn't the 94 on the wing upside down though? ???)
-
Thanks guy's.
Wayne, yes the wing number is upside down. I thought it kind of unusual as the Hirsch drawing shows it that way, but when I looked at the drawing again, I discovered it was the bottom view I was looking at. Duh oh! Oh well, the numbers are vinyl, so it's an easy fix.

Has anybody really checked on graphic of our racing planes. I like it as it is different. Reminds me of the early days of scale racing when there were more than just 4 or 5 designs flying. Hope your pit man is gentle on the catches with that tail assembly. Did I say it looks great. H^^

Sorry Les, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut on that one. ;D Not nearly as bad as when we see upside down "stars and bars" though. n1
That's a really neat plane you've got there. y1

Initial flight tests have been completed (all two of them). Takes off well, flies nice, lands nice....
Weather or not it's a 'racer' remains to be seen...

Glad to hear it flies. Now how many times have we seen the fastest plane not win, let alone finish a finals race? Consistancy is the secret. A plane that anybody can fly. An engine that will restart and hold settings. Most important a pilot and pit man that know what they are doing. H^^

We got to put plenty of laps on her at the Nats--and Les let me wiggle the handle for him. The plane is light, and flies that way. Still working thru some engine setup issues, but it raced pretty good! We ended up using a closer handle spacing to desensitize the controls in the wind. That also reduced my "rocket style" takeoffs nicely. (I was trying hard not to buzz the one proven good prop!) The plane didn't hunt so much as kind of fly two or three racing grooves at the same time as the wind buffeted it. Still, light is fast....and he pulled down a second place. We picked up a little race rash in the final, so Les has a bit more work left. I'm looking forward to getting my grubbies on it again....
By the time of the Nats, Les had the racing numbers on right, and really pimped her out with pilot stenciling and sponsor decals.
Oh, and did I mention that Les was the 2011 Nats CL Racing High Point Champion?
