I honestly haven't seen many of them, even back when they were available. Not sure when they disappeared.

My only experience with one was Piloting and Pitting Jim Galls Slow Rat Model at the 2011 Nat's when he set the 70 lap heat record.

The only place I see them offered up is on an R/C car website (rctech.net). You might find a new unaltered example there.

Unfortunately, out of production. But thanks for the recommendation.

What equipment are you talking about? There is no description or name in the first post by MM.

The GO .25, which was a car engine that is popular and successful in AMA Slow Rat Racing.

Jett and Fora makes a 25. I never saw one in Slow Rat trim but both are quality Engines. I was the one that found the Go 25 engine and used it in Slow Rat a few years before anyone else. I sold and tuned them for my local club members. My engines won lots of local contest and the Nats many times. One great engine.

By my searches, the Fora 4.2 seems to be discontinued. The Jett 25 without the tuned muffler is truly disappointing. Bill Lee suspects there is too much crankcase volume for effective pumping action without the muffler. The Novarossi Roma 25 car engines may be good also, but alas, they too are discontinued.

Hobbyclub shows one in stock. If you buy this engine you will be a pioneer like I was with the Go 25 and the OS 18 TZ.

Others using the GO early on.

NATs 140 lap record is held by Russ Green, set in 2009. Russ also had the 70 lop record set in 2009 as well. 70 lap record now held by Jim Gall, set in 2011.

Does anyone still fly this event?
Yes, now and then. Still a NATs event.

2008 Nats Go 25 debut second place. I had the power to win but I blew a plug on a pit stop. I got the 2021 Nats Slow Rat win with my Go 25 and Tom doing the pitting.

I suspect Russ got his GO from you, Al! Not sure what he was running in 2008, but for sure, 2009 when he set both 70 and 140 lap records was with the GO.

And it was GREAT to see you guys back at the NATs in '21!

I did not sell Russ his engine, I sold Jim Gall his and gave it my break in routine, it needed some tweaking before he put in his Slow Rat. I enjoyed being at the 2021 Nats. Tom and I pulled out of are stunt entries to do Racing, Speed, and Combat.  I was watching you pitting and I saw you haven’t lost your touch, very impressive.
