Title: 2021 Schedule
Post by: Mike Callas on January 30, 2021, 11:40:47 PM
Given the current state of affairs at this point, is there any racing activity planned for 2021?

Good question, Mike.

Locally, I think we need to have the parks ban on gatherings lifted. No idea when that might happen. Also need to get the transmission rate down enough so that the guys will actually come out. Things have started to improve in LA county, but are still outrageously high.

I think the AMA would work with us on nearly "last minute" notification should we decide we can hold a contest.

There are none scheduled right now that I know of, and doubt there will be before the fall. That is merely my opinion.

Beyond local, I thought I heard that the AMA moved up the NATS control line events by a month this year? If that is true, then that seems pretty iffy to me, although many attended the NATS this past year, which I thought was pretty sporty, too.

Maybe Barracuda Bill can comment on the plans from the Lonestar State. (Which is probably what your post was getting at....)

Dallas has its normal contest season laid out. It's listed in the Feb. 2021 Torque Roll. Nothing short of mandatory restrictions should hold us back.

Darrell Albert and Dale Long, two California racers, both passed away around the beginning of this year. More info in Torque Roll.
