Title: RSM Ringmaster
Post by: Louis Rankin on February 24, 2006, 09:10:26 AM
Purchased an RSM Ringmaster from Sam's Stuff and Hobbies last week.  This is a totally awesome kit.  Good wood, excellent laser cutting, and outstanding full size plans.  For anyone wanting to build a Ringmaster, I highly recommend this kit.  If you currently have a Sterling Ringmaster, sell it on the bay and use the money to buy the RSM kit.  If you are planning to scratch build, forget it, this kit has everything you need for a better price than you could buy the contest wood.  For those wondering about the ribs being true to the original, rest assured they have the classic polliwog shape.  And, yes, it is OTS and Classic legal!

Only one negative and that is the classic Ringmaster decal is not part of the kit.  So, if you must have the Ringmaster decal, there are several out there who make reproductions.  Maybe someone will post one here.

So, build a Ringmaster.  I guarantee it will make you feel like a 12 year old boy again.

I am going to install one of the new Brodak 25s.  Sam's has me on the waiting list and is going to ship a couple of them as soon as they arrive.  That will be another product review.

I found this decal.  An industrious person should be able to use the file to create a decal or take to a sign shop and have cut from vinyl.

Even the old critters that "used to fly these real well" will certainly be impressed with the quality of Eric's laser cut kits and the wood selection that he does....

They assemble easily and straight and with an LA .25 or the soon to arrive Brodak .25, will be fun.....and OTS eligible....

I've got one with the old Fox 35 and it flys great. Its sturdy too, I planked mine in the ground trying to do a lazy 8 last fall (operator error) only damage was spinner, prop and needle valve. My only added precaution is the fusalage is 1/4" pcs laminated to 1/2" make sure if you use tight bond or similar glue that you put glue on both sides of the fus.piece and scrape off the excess, wait till tacky then put together and secure so you don't get any warps (ask me how I know this).
