ENYA 61 CXS PRO WITH RSM TRIVIAL PURSUIT
« on: September 18, 2007, 09:17:36 AM »
Yesterday I flew the maiden flights of my new
Trivial Pursuit, from the RSM Kit, powered with
The new Enya 61 CXS Pro

( Longish grass )
Very light wind
Chilly , temperature circa 8 – 10 degrees Celcius

Minimal finish, Brodak film on wings n tail
2 coats dope , 2 coats Enamel, 1 coat fuel proofer
On fuselage, removal balsa cowl

All up weight :   58 ounces
Prop :         12 x 6 Black Master  for flywheel effect
As per the engine instructions
Lines:         68 feet eyelet to eyelet
Fuel:         10% Nitro 10% Synthetic  10% Castor

Previously ran 4 x 6 ounce tanks through the motor

Started with few flicks and took off settled into groovy level flight,
Did some climbs , loops , inverted , and overhead eights, then
Squares all no problem, the motor run was solid all through the
Flight, resisted the temptation to try full pattern until I am more
Familiar with the plane/motor. On landing damaged the cowling
Second flight the motor run changed during the flight but did
Most of the pattern. Examination showed that the damaged cowl
Was allowing the fuel tank to move up and down 6mm each way!!
So called it a day and went home to repair, modify the cowling to
Fixed open bottom with separate tank hold down, look forward to
A lot of flying with this combo. I don’t usually bother to tacho
The motors as I prefer to judge the performance in flight only

I would recommend the RSM kit which went together painlessly
And am very impressed with Enya motors , from Alberto Parra
Now to build a new plane for the 2nd Enya 61!!

Do you know what the engine weight is with muffler? It looks heavy.  Although I am not a big fan of super light engines to where you have to add nose weight, kind of defeats the purpose.

Vincent, do you have pictures of your Trivial Pursuit with the Enya 61 engine?
What muffler did you end of using?
Thanks,
Ralph
