Title: Custom Made Dural Landing Gear
Post by: Ward Van Duzer on October 04, 2006, 09:07:07 AM
Gieseke Nobler Landing Gear

While building a G’ Nobler I decided to go with a Dural LG, rather than the wood covered wire gear. Problem is all of the commercially available LG are tapered, and the G’ gear has parallel leading and trailing edges. So, as some members of my club have done, I went to Home Depot and bought a 36” X 1” X 1/8” aluminum bar, and bent my own. Trouble is, it is not hardened metal. And at 1/8” thick it was heavier than most.

But…

Enter TNT  Landing Gear Products! These folks will make a custom dural gear for you to your specs. Even those funky curved jobs! I got a 3/32” T6 dural gear for $20.00 plus shipping. And saved a full ounce in the process. Give them a try at :

Sure!

The angles seem a little distorted in the foto, but they are not. It has a sanded finish, which is fine because it'll get painted anyway! I'm sure if you wanted to polish yours you could make a special request...
