GSCB Awards Banquet, April 22nd
« on: March 26, 2007, 07:02:16 PM »

Sunday, April 22nd
noon until about 4:00 p.m.
Fortissimo’s Restaurant
484 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ

Each year the Garden State Circle Burners recognize members and area flyers that have made significant contributions to our sport. The Annual Awards Banquet allows modelers, their wives and friends to enjoy a meal and to socialize as we acknowledge these achievements. The recipients of the G.S.C.B. Lifetime Achievement Award for 2007 are two very popular guys that have given a lot to our sport!  Our banquet is returning to Fortissimo’s in West Orange and the tickets are just $40.00 apiece or $75.00 per couple. We will have some terrific items to raffle and will hold the raffle for the Ready to Fly BRODAK Smoothie ARC with a BRODAK .40 Engine at the banquet as well.

Please let us know by Saturday, April 15th if you are able to attend. The banquet chairman is current G.S.C.B. Vice President and all around “spark plug” is Ron “the Deli Guy” Testa. Please contact Ron via e-mail at billiards98@aol.com or telephone him during the day at: (973) 731-1144.  Or let Rueben MacBride know when you mail your raffle tickets to him (please put a stamp on the envelope).  The banquet and raffles do a lot to help defray the costs of our flying site and our club activities and all support is appreciated.

As the 2007 flying season approaches, we would like to remind you that the George L. Gaydos field, on Two Bridges Road in Lincoln Park, is open all year to members and guests and that we are proud to host several of the oldest and most prestigious control line model contests in the World. Our members meet monthly and we have several “Learn to Fly” days annually as well as an “air force” of trainer planes and AMA licensed Intro Pilots. We welcome new members and are happy to provide FREE instruction as well as safety inspections and operational help with your control line models. Our 2007 schedule is on the back.  We also maintain a web site: www.gscb.us with up to date contest and meeting information and links to our modeling friends. We hope that you will join us.
