Title: Twin Streak kits
Post by: pat king on December 15, 2011, 10:43:21 AM
The Twin Streak laser cut kit is a 53.8 inch wingspan , 535 square inches of wing area, twin airplane. All parts are laser cut. The two fuselages are 12 ½” center to center.  The airplane is for .15 to .20 engines. If you like Streaks and want a twin, this is for you.  y1

Thanks,  Pat

Hi Pat, You've done a good job on the streak twin. I have some experience with twin flight streaks, and may I offer a suggestion that may be helpful.

You've mounted the bellcrank to the inboard fuselage. You might find that it is better to mount it next to the outer fuselage. This will save you having to have a lot of tip weoght to balance out the weoght of the BC inboard of center. I once did one as shown, and had to use 1 1/2 OZs of tip weight. The next one with the BC mounted near the outboard fuse, only needed 1/2 OZ to balance. y1

John,
Thanks for the tip. I will move the bellcrank out before anything goes to be laser cut. y1

Thanks,  Pat

Pat,
Do you have any Twin Streaks left? Are they still $90.?
I would love to build one. Do you think 2 - LA.25 would be to much? I already have them.
 Thanks.

Scott,
I do not have any Twin Streaks in stock. They are now $95.00 with shipping and insurance included. My laser cutter goes on vacation in a week and is covered up until he leaves. It could be 6 weeks until I can get a kit to you. You can pay using PayPal to: patdk at aol dot com or you can send a check to:

Scott,
As for Twin Streak engines, the LA25 engines are more than the airplane needs, but it is not hard to back off on the power by using a flatter prop and a richer run. There is no way to compensate for a powerplant or powerplants without enough power.
