Title: Super Saucer
Post by: pat king on December 01, 2012, 01:08:27 PM
The Super Saucer is a 22 ½” diameter disc with 397 square inches of wing area. It is a larger version of the JETCO Satellite Saucer. The airplane is for .20 to .40 engines. The kits will be laser cut with CAD plans. The plans will include full size templates of all pieces. The kits will be produced after the first of the year. The cost will be $110.00  , shipping and insurance included. This one you definitely will not see everywhere, it will draw attention.

One has not been built yet. Dennis goaded me into this design, he had the Jetco 14" saucer once upon a time.

Pat, I thought that saying Gee, Pat this was an interesting little thing that I had once upon a time would be intriguing enough to you to pique your interest. I never thought to goad you. I'll have to try that next time though. Seriously though I'm glad that you did it. we need some fun models every now and then.

How do I order one?  I scratched a Muciano 1/2A saucer out of plans from 1952 or so Popular Mechanix mag.
It's a hoot!

Mounting the motor would not be hard. y1 Finding some place for the batteries would be a problem. :( The tank compartment is only 3.6" long.

Since a picture of the completed model hasn't been posted I'll put 2 up to remind everyone what it looked like. The paint scheme is the same as the original.
