Title: STREAKER VI Mouse Racer
Post by: pat king on August 06, 2018, 10:21:12 PM
The STREAKER VI is an updated STREAKER 1/2A Mouse Racer. It uses a round Aluminum engine mount to hold the engine together. The tank screws are removed and longer screws go through the engine mount, back-plate, tank, and into the crankcase. A separate set of screws go through the motor mount fairings and ply firewall into the Aluminum engine mount. The STREAKER VI has less frontal area than the STREAKER Jr. or STREAKER V. The airplane has a 22 3/16” wingspan and 43 square inches of wing area. The CAD plans have full size templates of all parts. The kit contains the Aluminum engine mount, and the pre formed motor mount fairings. The kit contains the screws for engine to engine mount attachment, and the screws to attach the engine/mount assembly to the airframe.  The kit does not contain any control system hardware. A control system hardware package is available.
The kits sell for $83.00 plus shipping of 2 pounds from zip 60449. For an additional $3.00 I will include a #50 drill bit and a 2-56 tap for deepening the holes in a Cox crankcase. A twin kit of two airplanes sells for $161.00 plus shipping of 3 pounds from zip 60449. Control system packages sell for $15.50 each if sold with the kits.  The control system package contains a Perfect aluminum 1/2A Bellcrank set, two 4-40 round weld nuts, two 4-40 x ¼ Button head Socket Cap Screws, a DuBro 2-56 swivel ball link set, a 12” 2-56 threaded pushrod, and a nylon control horn.

Dane,
My Streaker Jr. is the same airplane as the Streaker V. This airplane should be faster, it will have less aerodynamic drag. Take the mounting lugs off of the engine backplate. They aren't used on this one, they are just drag.

I will post a picture of a Cox engine with the Aluminum mounting plate soon. I will have the gaskets that go between the engine mount and the backplate soon.

Here is a later Black Widow with the Aluminum engine mount attached. The tank back plate is not completely modified, it needs to have the other 3 mounting lugs removed.

I meant just the aluminum mount, not the whole kit.

Thanks Pat

George,
I will sell a mount, the 4 screws to assemble the engine, the 4 screws to attach the assembly to the airframe, and the gasket for $25.00 .
That is about what I have in it. If you just want the mount they are $20.00 . The screws to assemble the mount and engine are 2-56 X 1 1/8"
In either case I will include instructions. The holes in the crankcase need to be deepened to accept the slightly longer screw projection in front of the tank.
As it says in the first posting I will provide a #50 drill and 2-56 tap for $3.00

Thanks,  Pat
