P40E WARHAWK Profile Scale
« on: January 03, 2018, 01:46:09 PM »
This laser cut kit builds a P40D or E WARHAWK for Profile Scale competition. The airplane has a 50 1/4” wingspan and 420 square inches of wing area. The airplane is 8.9% of full scale. The airfoil is asymmetrical but has enough shape that the airplane will be capable of basic stunts. Here is a WARHAWK for your .25 to .35 engines. This one is for you Flying Tiger fans. The kits include CAD plans with all parts shown full size. The plans show main gear for static judging and flight judging. The mains in scale location are very close to the C.G., flight with the wheels in that location will probably result in nose over landings. To switch gear requires a ball driver, the removal of 12 buttonhead socket sheet metal screws, drop out the one set of gear insert the other set of gear replace the retainer plates and screws and the airplane is ready to go. The kits sell for $100.00 plus shipping of 4 pounds from zip 60449

Pat,
I think to add a little detail to the rudder and elevator hinge line would be good. The rudder over hangs the vertical fin  to allow for the counter balance weight so the vertical fin needs a cut out for this. The horizontal stabilizer also has a cut out for the elevator weight and a angular cut outboard of the balance weight.

Mike,
Thanks for the input. The rudder doesn't move on the model and should not be offset. Those lines should be inked on the rudder and vertical stabilizer. You are correct about the boost tabs and angled ends on the elevators. I will revise them to reflect that.
