NORTHROP F-15A (RF-61C) REPORTER
« on: March 18, 2020, 02:29:00 PM »
This laser cut kit is a Profile Scale F-15A Reporter Photo Reconnaissance Airplane for twin .19 to .25 engines. The airplane is 1/12th scale. The wingspan is 66” with a 663 square inch wing area. The F-15A (later RF-61C) was in the group of the last of the piston driven reconnaissance airplanes that the US built. Do not use a pair of .15 or weak .19 engines on this airplane. The full scale airplane had a pair of 2800 HP rated turbo supercharged R2800 engines. The airplanes did not have any armaments they were designed to fly high and fast. The line guide is removable, it bolts to the inboard nacelle. The flying lines attach to the Bellcrank using round buttons like a racing airplane. The airplane does not have any leadouts or lines attached for static judging. The CAD plans show all parts full size. The kit contains all the control system parts for the removable lines including the carbon fiber 4” Bellcrank, the torque resistant Bellcrank mounting system, the carbon fiber tubular pushrod with left hand and right hand threaded ends with DuBro heavy duty ball end pushrod ends. The kit buyers will get a .pdf file of the Squadron Signal book on the Northrop P-61 and a .jpg of the 3 view of the airplane. If you want to compete in Profile Scale with a twin you don’t see every day consider this kit. The kits sell for $300.00 plus shipping from zip code 60449. Yes, that is not cheap, but ¼ of that is control system parts and plots of the plans ( 3 feet wide X 24 feet).
