A 54” wingspan 575 square inch, profile Grumman F8F Bearcat. The airplane is designed as a Profile Scale airplane. The fuselage is ¾” thick, the balsa cores are sheeted with 1/8 balsa aft of the 1/8 ply doublers. The wing is sheeted with 1/16 balsa. The rib profile is the NACA 230 series used in the full scale airplane. This is a .50 to .60 size airplane, do not try to fly it with an old weak .45. It will be great with a newer .50 to .60 engine. It will be a Profile Scale competitor, or a fun sport flier. The airplane will be able to stunt, but will not be an airplane for flying a pattern in competition. The laser cut kit comes with full size CAD plans with templates for all the parts. The kit does not contain any control system hardware. The first kits will sell for $190.00 plus postage on 6 pounds from Zip Code 60449. The finished airplane should be less than 5 pounds.
