When the British decided they needed a new trainer to replace the Tiger Moth, De Havilland Aircraft had De Havilland Canada design a new monoplane trainer. This was the first airplane designed by De Havilland Canada. The CHIPMUNK has large aerodynamically boosted elevators and rudder. The airplane has significant dihedral to assist in attitude recovery. This laser cut kit is for a 1/8 scale Profile scale airplane. It has a 51 ½” wingspan and 402 square inches of wing area. It is for .25 to .35 engines. The vertical tail and rudder are ¼ balsa. The horizontal stabilizer and elevators have ¼ balsa cores with 1/16 balsa skins. The CAD plans show all parts full size. The kit does not contain any control system hardware. The kits cost $138.00 plus shipping cost of a 3 pound 36” X 4” X 4” box from Zip 60449.
