DEWEYBIRD 60
« on: November 27, 2020, 01:37:17 PM »
Do you have fond memories of the Sig 1/2A Deweybird? It is a great little airplane that flies very well. The airplane was designed by Dave Shipton. It is a sheet wing 1/2A version of his 35 size Deweybird. The Deweybird is Jim Dewey’s Super Cosmic Wind. It was originally a 2 place airplane. It was built using many parts from the original production of the Cosmic Wind Formula 1 racers.
I now offer a 60 size Deweybird. The airplane has a 65” wingspan and 859 square inches of wing area. The wing is 18% thick with capstrips. As with all my kits the CAD plans show all parts full size. The laser cut kits do not contain any control system hardware. The kit has adjustable leadouts and a tip weight box. If you like the ˝A Deweybird you will love the 60 size airplane. The kits sell for $248.45 plus shipping of 6 pounds from Zip 60449.

Nice work, Pat. I am not ready yet to move up to a .60 sized ship, but what a tribute to a successful half-A that trained many on CL. Looks light and strong, too.
