Title: COSMIC WIND GOODYEAR RACER
Post by: pat king on September 01, 2017, 08:03:39 PM
The Lockheed test pilot, Tony Le Vier, gathered a few fellow employees together and formed Tony Le Vier Associates Inc., to design a limited series of Formula 1 racers. These small, all metal racers were built at the main Lockheed plant in a short series of three aircraft, the first flying in 1947. N20C, the first, was named ‘Little Toni’ and was for Tony La Vier, himself; N21C was named ‘Minnow’ (presumably because it was so small), and was owned by ‘Fish’ Salmon and the last, N22C was built for Glenn Fulkerson and named ‘Ballerina’, as his wife was a ballerina. The type was called the Cosmic Wind. This laser cut kit is 96% of 1/8 scale of a Cosmic Wind. The airplane has a 27.3” wing span and 144 square inches of wing area. The kit contains all the laser cut parts, the basswood sticks, the Aluminum for the landing gear, the 4mm screws and nuts for the axles, the blind nut and screw for the Bellcrank mounting, and the nylon skid for the leadout guide. The kit does not contain any control system hardware. The CAD plans show all parts full size. The kits sell for $110.00 plus shipping of 3 pounds from 60449.
