BLACKHAWK 10
« on: September 15, 2015, 05:59:28 PM »
This one is for those who remember the Blackhawk comic books. The BLACHHAWK 10 is an electric twin with electric retracts. With a 54 ½” wingspan and 503 square inches of wing area the airplane does not require a large vehicle to transport it. The rib profile is NACA 0018 modified to have the high point at approximately 30% of the chord. The horizontal tail is 23 ½% of the wing area. The laser cut kits will include CAD plans with all parts shown full size, and the canopy. The kit does not include the control system hardware or the retracts.

The motor mounts have holes for 28 mm and 35 mm outrunner motors. .10 equivalent 28 mm motors should be plenty. The battery compartments will accommodate 3300 mah 3 cell batteries. I would think weight would be in the 40 oz. range. With the retracts cutting the aerodynamic drag the airplane will have a lower flight amperage draw than one would normally see on an airplane this size. And besides, the airplane will look so cool with the mains retracted.

Hi Pat, I was wondering if you have this plane that would accomodate two (2) OS .25 FP engines. Thanks, Gerald Schamp.

Gerald,
The airplane would need some re-design to go with IC Engines. For twin .25 engines the airplane should be in the 650 to 750 square inch range. that would give a 62" to 66 3/4" wingspan.
I have a Profile Scale F82 that is for .25 size engines. That would be an enjoyable sport twin.

Thanks,  Pat
