Wings West aerosol hobby paint, with catalysed clear!

These guys I know from flying Classic R/C Pattern. This is what I'm finishing my Gieseke Nobler with right now. It's a great product, made by modelers for modelers. The 2 part clear is ingenious, push a botton that pops the balloon in the can and mixes the hardener and you've got two hours to clear the model with their fan pattern spray heads making it a pleasure.
Epoxy in prepackaged envelopes about the right size for each half of a 700 sq in foam wing, lots of colors of base coat, primers that cover and are compatible with the system, single part and two part clear for electric and glow, and other handy stuff and cool stickers available on their site and a fast and easy checkout online.
My stuff was less than 100 bucks for the Nobler, I'll post pics when I'm done. I've used it as a test on some repairs, love the primer, love the clear. Colors look great on my test surface, i think these guys are on to somethng!

Hi Little Brother!

Sounds like good stuff so far!  Let us know how much material is needed to finish the G.Nobler, OK?
Primer, base color, clear.......

Chris,
As always we are a little weight conscious so it would be of interest if you could weigh the ship as you put on each coat. I have used other 2 part clears in spray cans (Max 2K) and it works great but you have to watch the weight. Keep us informed along the way.

Best,      DennisT

I will Dennis,
Especially since it's such a little model. My buddy buried his 750 sq in Deception Pattern ship and admitted a 8 oz weight penalty in his estimation. Of course I'll be more conservative with my application .

Chris,

I did take a look at that link and that Brand. I must say, you mentioned the 100.00 you spent and it set me back a bit.

Well, I just spent 84.00 on paint. No, not that Brand, I purchased artist's acrylics. I did mention I would give acrylic tube paint a shot some time back.

Yes, it can be thinned, strained and sprayed. A pain that way, but the results could be worth it? Ill know shortly.

I may not use any primer on this model. Im considering Krylon aerosol can as a base. Using a similar color thats close to the acrylic color Ill use for finish.

Krylon can be sanded.
