I read a few threads about a rustolum clear to use. Can some one post a picture of the can or product code.

Thanks

None.

Rustoleum clear isn't fuelproof.
Laser-cut, "Ted Fancher Precision-Pro" Hard Point Handle Kits are available again.  PM for info.

Clear polyurethane varnish over aged (2 week minimum) Rustoleum.  The Minwax brand varnish comes in a spray can and a paint can.  The spray is convenient.

It is fuel proof after about 24 hours.

There are several varieties, clear and amber tinted, and a variety of gloss levels, so make sure you are getting the correct product.  This is NOT polycryllic water based product.  It is the stinky solvent based  polyurethane.

Bonus: you can coat polyurethane and Rustoleum over each other allowing for proper full cure times with no ill effects.

Back when I was too chicken s--t to get myself set up for spraying dope I used to use a lot rattle-can Minwax for my final clear coats. It actually worked quite well, was friendly over vinyl graphics, decals, and most paints. The problems are that after a year or so (sometimes sooner) it would crack up and/or crystalize like crazy. It also makes repairs very difficult because nothing is really compatible for painting over it.

By far, the best move I've ever made in my finishing routine has been getting a good compressor and auto detail gun and finally spraying dope for all color and final clear work. I've never regretted it, and I should have made the move years earlier.  y1
