Here is my most recent finishing sequence. I am happy to report that all the products worked well together, and particularly that the clear didn't affect the lacquer, decals, or ink lines.
Base: 3/4 oz glass cloth and finishing epoxy over wood, Super-Fil fillets
Primer: NAPA DC540 aerosol gray primer
Color: Duplicolor Perfect Match aerosol acrylic lacquer
Trim: airbrushed dope for canopy, water slide decals from Bill Calkins, IdentiPen permanent marker for ink lines
Clear top coat: KlassKote 2 part epoxy paint, airbrushed
This was my first time with the Duplicolor lacquer. It went on beautifully, but blushed a bit due to the heat and humidity. Burnishing lightly with 0000 steel wool took care of it. It was also my first time to do ink lines.

What happens when it sits outside on a sunny day? I had trouble with dark acrylic lacquer colors under a catalyzed polyurethane topcoat.

That is really nice Bill!

Nice job as usual Bill, and thanks for the paint sequence/recipe. I'll use it on my next racer. y1
