Filling the grain In balsa profile fuselage
« on: October 08, 2015, 03:48:20 PM »
Let's suppose you have sanded your profile fuselage smooth and now you want go paint it.  Water based fillers like Polycrylic can warp your fuselage.  What product would you choose to use to fill the wood grain other than dope before you paint it?

Thank you

I've used water based acrylics with no warps,  just paint a little on both sides.   I usually paint the way I would with dope and have not had problems.

You could use a 2 part automotive high build primer, or a spray can of high build. Let dry then sand pretty much most of it off till you can just barely see through it.
